Starting Critical Discourse in the Classroom

Thursday, December 7, 2017 -
5:00pm to 7:30pm

The Carnegie Museum of Art's Empowered Educators Series is teaming up with Remake Learning Meetups for a very special evening with Jawanza K. Rand.

Enter into the conversation surrounding the ways in which educators can support relevant, engaging, and equitable learning in classrooms. This Meetup will outline tools for educators, particularly white teachers, to start and have successful conversations about race, based on research currently underway at the Center for Urban Education, University of Pittsburgh, as well as an opportunity to tour "The Most Important Art Show in America" before it closes in December.

Light dinner will be provided, and teachers can earn Act 48 activity hours for participating in Carnegie Museum of Art’s various workshops, classes, lectures, and public programs. Please see individual events for eligibility.

This event is FREE and open to the PUBLIC. All are welcome.
