Early Childhood Action Day

Voices Heard in Harrisburg

A collective voice makes a bigger impact than a single voice.

Register online or call or email Molly (412) 421-3889, mollym@paeyc.org to join hundreds of early childhood , school-age, and out of school time educators/providers, parents and caregivers in Harrisburg, PA on April 23, 2013, as we raise our collective voice for quality early childhood education.

On April 23, gather at Pine Street Church (310 N 3rd St., Harrisburg, PA 17101 -- located directly across the street from the PA Capitol's main entrance) to:

  • check in, network, get materials, mentoring, and;
  • participate in professional development opportunities throughout the day, and;
  • walk over to the Pennsylvania Capitol Building to visit with your state legislators, participate in a group rally in the Capitol Rotunda (1:30 PM) and watch our state legislature in action!

You MUST register for Action Day to have a visit with your legislators scheduled for you. Onsite, day-of registration does NOT guarantee a visit will be scheduled. Early registration is encouraged.

Past Action Days

Want to see what past Action Day look like? Visit the PennAEYC website at www.pennaeyc.org for photos, videos and reports from past Action Days.

Since its modest beginnings in 2005, Early Childhood Action Day grew to be the eminent annual grassroots event for Pennsylvania's early childhood advocacy community. Gathering early childhood providers, community leaders, parents, and interested advocates, Early Childhood Action Day represents the power of the collective energy and voice that come together in Pennsylvania's Capitol. In the past few years, Action Day has drawn more than 750 people to gather at the Capitol building in Harrisburg to deliver the message of the importance of early childhood education to state legislators.  The day consists of professional development opportunities, scheduled legislative visits, and a rally in Capitol's Rotunda.
